Our client, Post NL, is a Dutch postal company active in the Benelux. They are currently looking for machine operators (with experience and VOG) to join their team in Zwolle, the Netherlands!
As a technical operator, you ensure that machines work properly and continue to do so.
From preparing the sorting process, deploying employees, and entering mail items at the feeder to using the screen used for operation. If a malfunction occurs, the technical operator tries to find a solution as quickly as possible. Two minutes of downtime can mean that 1,000 fewer pieces of mail are sorted! It is a physically demanding job, where you are sometimes under considerable pressure and work at night and sometimes on weekends. But thanks to you, the mail will be delivered on time!
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure machines work properly and consistently during sorting processes;
- Prepare the sorting process, deploy employees, and manage mail items at the feeder;
- Operate machines using the control screen;
- Quickly troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions to minimise downtime;
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent malfunctions;
- Collaborate with Technical Services when issues cannot be resolved independently;
- Maintain a safe working environment for all team members;
- Work effectively with colleagues, team coaches, and process coordinators;
- Manage physically demanding tasks, including night and weekend shifts;
- Participate in a flexible 4-shift schedule with applicable shift allowances;
- Undergo training at the start of employment to perform tasks correctly.
The starting salary for this position is €14.62 gross/hour + 8.33% holiday allowance, which totals €15.84 per hour. This is a long-term and full-time job position. You need to be flexible to work in 4 shifts. A 20% shift allowance applies from 06:00 to 08:00 and 18:00 to 22:00. A shift allowance of 40% is applicable from 22:00 to 06:00.
Main Requirements
- CV in English is required to apply for this position;
- Previous experience is mandatory;
- Able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG);
- At least an MBO-2 diploma (technical/vocational school);
- Physically fit to handle demanding tasks;
- Proficient with computers and operational devices;
- Committed to maintaining machines in optimal condition;
- Able to quickly devise solutions when issues arise;
- Works well in a team with fellow operators;
- Willing to live and work with multiple nationalities;
- Available to stay longer in the Netherlands.
