For 160 years they have been thinking about keeping growing cities livable: first by improving the quality of our drinking water and now by collecting waste. In the Netherlands, with more than 2,000 employees, they collect waste from 530,000 households and 80,000 companies and institutions. In close collaboration with customers and partners, they turn this waste into raw materials for new products. This makes waste even more valuable to the world.

In this role, your daily tasks wil include:

  • Conducting a pre-trip inspection of the waste truck to ensure it is in good working condition, checking brakes, lights, fluid levels, tires, and other critical components.
  • Reviewing the assigned route for the day, including any special instructions or changes.
  • Safely driving the waste truck along the designated route, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
  • Operating the truck’s mechanisms to collect waste from bins, dumpsters, or curbside locations.
  • Ensuring the safety of the public while operating the waste truck, especially in residential areas or busy streets.
  • Reporting any problems or deviations to the teamleader immediately.

The agency provides:

  • Quaranteed 40 hours/week, with the possibility of overtime
  • Initial training is provided
  • Accommodation in single or double bedrooms in well-equipped shared houses

Requirements:

  • CV in English is required to apply for this position
  • At least one year of previous experience as a truck driver (preferably in the same field)
  • Valid code 95 is mandatory
  • Willingness to undergo the VOG (Dutch certificate of good conduct) examination
  • Physically fit and ready to have many stops throughout the day
  • Ready to live and work with multiple nationalities
  • Ready to stay long-term in the Nerthelands
