Our partner, Sligro Food Group, consists of many companies that specifically focus on the food service market in the Netherlands and Belgium. They are offering a comprehensive range of food, food-related, and non-food products and services in the wholesale market.
They are currently looking for order pickers with experience. As an order picker, you will be responsible for driving a low-level order picking truck and scanning products with a Bluetooth finger scanner.
Main Responsibilities
- Collect orders, food, and non-food products, around the warehouse, using electronic collection carts and a finger scanner;
- Ensure that you collect the right products and the right quantities independently;
- Notify the supervisor if the item is no longer available on the shelf;
- Place the collected products correctly for your colleagues on the expedition;
- Keep your workplace clean.
The starting salary for this position depends on age. For those 21 and older, it is €13.81 gross per hour plus a 10.5% holiday allowance, which totals €15.26. You will work in 2 shifts. Workers must be flexible enough to work overtime, if necessary.
This is a full-time and long-term job offer in an excellent working environment. The company provides work training and a Staff Buddy, to guide workers on their daily tasks. You will also have access to a well-equipped canteen with a low-cost lunch or free drinks (coffee/tea).
Note that warehouses have different temperatures, according to each department where food products are located. In most locations, the working environment is comfortable at +18 oC. Fresh food products are located in warehouses with temperatures of +4ºC and you must be ready to work at low temperatures. Protective equipment is provided if needed, free of charge.
There are different possible locations depending on the agency’s needs: Veghel, Vianen, Venray, Amsterdam, Berkel en Rodenrijs, Maastricht, Breda, Deventer, Nieuwegein, and Gilze
Other Allowances
- Allowances for irregular working hours vary from 25% to 100%.
- Depending on which shift or location you work, you will receive an extra allowance for cold (+ € 0,49) or freezer (+ € 1,19)
- Mon-Fri 4:00-6:00 and 19:00-22:00: 125%
- Mon-Fri 22:00-4:00: 150%
- Sat 00:00-12:00: 150%
- Sat after 12:00: 200%
- Sunday and bank holidays: 200%
Requirements
- CV in English is required before arrival and must have correct e-mail and phone number, plus correct home country address for health insurance purposes.
- Warehouse experience working in order picking, using scanner and EPT (electric pallet truck) is an advantage;
- Flexibility for working overtime, if needed;
- Healthy and Ready to face cooler temperatures and work in fridge areas +4ºC;
- Follow safety rules – no visible piercings
- Team player and able to work independently at a fast-pace with minimum error rate;
- Willing to live and work with multiple nationalities;
- Ready to stay in the Netherlands for at least 1 year.
